Students interested in an SOEHS undergraduate program are eligible for admission as incoming first-year students, incoming transfer students, or current KU students pending they meet certain admission criteria. Please see below for more information.

Visit Campus
Incoming Freshmen
Incoming first-year students will be admitted directly to the School of Education & Human Sciences if they 1) meet KU's assured admission standards and 2) apply to KU with an SOEHS undergraduate program declared as their major. Assured admission standards are outlined below:
- A 3.25 GPA on a 4.0 scale, no test scores required or regardless of test score submitted
- An ACT score of at least 21 or an SAT score of at least 1060 plus a GPA of at least 2.0
Incoming transfer students
Incoming transfer students will be admitted directly to the School of Education & Human Sciences if they
- have a minimum 2.75 KU + Transfer Cumulative GPA and
- apply to KU with an SOEHS undergraduate program declared as their major.
Current students
Current students will use the Change of School form to declare an SOEHS undergraduate program as their major. Students must have a KU + Transfer Cumulative GPA of at least 2.75 to be eligible for admission.
Graduate Students (Campus-based & Online)
Graduate students are encouraged to apply for admission through the Office of Graduate Studies at KU.

Edwards Campus Students
For the undergraduate degree completion programs at the Edwards Campus in Overland Park, most transfer students should have already completed the majority of their general education requirements and prerequisites. Interested applicants are encouraged to contact a program advisor before applying as a transfer student to KU.
Graduate students interested in applying to complete a program at the Edwards Campus are encouraged to apply for admission through the Office of Graduate Studies at KU.
International Students
International students are encouraged to apply to the School of Education and Human Sciences based on their level of degree/education interest:
- Intensive English or English as a Second Language (ESL): Applied English Center
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S. or B.S.E.): International Recruitment & Undergraduate Admissions
- Graduate degree (M.A., M.S., M.S.E., Ed.S., Ed.D., Ph.D.): Graduate Studies

The Office of International Admissions will assist prospective international students in their application for admission to KU.
Non-Degree Seeking Students
Individuals interested in enrolling in coursework without the intent to complete a degree program are encouraged to apply as non-degree seeking students. For more information, please contact the academic department of interest via email.
Academic Departments
The School of Education & Human Sciences comprises five academic departments. To request to enroll in a course as a non-degree seeking student, please contact the specific department of interest via email.
