The Department of Special Education uses a combination of contemporary curriculum, evidence-based practices, and fieldwork to help you utilize your knowledge to support the specific needs of a wide-range of students. Choose from five M.S.E. degree options.
- Autism spectrum disorder.
- Early childhood unified (Birth-K).
- High incidence disabilities.
- Low incidence disabilities.
- Secondary special education transition.
You will put your learning into practice through hands-on experience. The Department of Special Education has five affiliated research centers to help you enhance the quality of life and inclusion with developmentally disabled students and their families. Through your service and outreach, you’ll gain the knowledge to advance your current career and create solutions to educational challenges as a teacher, administrator, or consultant.
