U.S. News & World Report highlights KU online education programs in rankings


LAWRENCE — The University of Kansas School of Education & Human Sciences has three programs ranked among the nation’s best in the 2022 edition of U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Online Programs,” released Jan. 25.

The school’s online master’s degree in special education ranked again at No. 1. The online master’s degree in educational administration ranked No. 12 overall (up from 13 last year), and the online master’s degree in curriculum & instruction ranked No. 14 overall (up from 15 last year).

“We are pleased that our online master’s programs in education are ranked among the best in the country, serving the needs of students in Kansas and beyond,” said Rick Ginsberg, dean of the school.

The school’s online program rankings this year also include No. 34 overall and No. 11 for veterans. The full U.S. News & World Report rankings are available online here.

In addition to the recent “Best Online Programs” rankings, U.S. News & World Report releases its “Best Graduate Schools” rankings each March and its “Best Colleges” rankings in September. In the most recent graduate rankings, KU has nine programs ranked in the top 10 and 50 programs in the top 50 among public institutions. In the most recent college rankings, KU ranks 122nd among all institutions.

The KU School of Education & Human Sciences is a nationally ranked school, preparing educators and human science professionals as leaders.
