US News & World Report highlights KU online education programs in 2023 rankings


LAWRENCE — The University of Kansas School of Education & Human Sciences has two programs ranked among the nation’s best in the 2023 edition of U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Online Programs,” released Jan. 24.

The school’s online master’s degree in special education ranked again at No. 1, and the online master’s degree in curriculum & instruction ranked No. 19 overall.

“With the growth in online learning, it’s great that the KU School of Education & Human Sciences’ online programs continue to be ranked nationally. This speaks to the high quality of the programs we offer,” said Rick Ginsberg, dean of the school.

The school’s online program rankings this year also include No. 30 overall and No. 23 for veterans. The full U.S. News & World Report rankings are available online here.

In addition to the recent “Best Online Programs” rankings, U.S. News & World Report releases its “Best Graduate Schools” rankings each March and its “Best Colleges” rankings in September. In the most recent graduate rankings, KU has 11 programs ranked in the top 10 and 51 programs in the top 50 among public institutions. In the most recent college rankings, KU ranks 121st among all institutions.
