KU education programs ranking among the nation’s best in 2025 US News & World Report online rankings


LAWRENCE — The University of Kansas School of Education & Human Sciences has two programs ranked among the top ten in the nation in the 2025 edition of U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Online Programs,” released Jan. 21.

The school’s online master’s degree in special education ranked at No. 2, and the online Ed.D. in educational administration ranked No. 10 overall.

“This year’s national rankings speak to the high quality of our programs and reflect the KU School of Education & Human Sciences’ longstanding position as a leader in online learning,” said Rick Ginsberg, dean of the school.

The school’s online program rankings this year also include No. 38 overall and No. 14 for veterans. The full U.S. News & World Report rankings are available online here.

In addition to the recent “Best Online Programs” rankings, U.S. News & World Report releases its “Best Graduate Schools” rankings each March and its “Best Colleges” rankings in September. In the most recent graduate rankings, the school’s rankings included No. 11 among public universities, by far the highest ranked graduate programs in the state of Kansas. In addition, two of its specialized programs ranked among the nation’s best. In the most recent college rankings, KU ranks 81st among all institutions.

The KU School of Education & Human Sciences is a nationally ranked school, preparing educators and human science professionals as leaders.
