KU School of Education & Human Sciences Ranks Among Nation's Top Master's in Education Programs

LAWRENCE — The University of Kansas School of Education & Human Sciences ranked No. 17 among the nation's best master's in education programs, according to new rankings from TFE Times.

KU lands in the top 20 nationwide, alongside programs at Vanderbilt University, the University of Washington and the University of California, Berkeley.

The rankings weigh factors such as GRE scores, starting salary, undergraduate GPA, acceptance rate and graduate employment outcomes, according to TFE Times' methodology.

“Rankings tend to measure what is easiest to count, and not always what matters most," said Dean Joshua Newman. “What makes this recognition meaningful is that the student sits at the center of it, just as the student sits at the center of our mission. It reflects the remarkable talent our programs attract, the careers our graduates step into soon after finishing, the faculty and staff who pour themselves into student success, and curricula designed to prepare graduates for what the world will ask of them next.”

The recognition builds on the school's standing in the U.S. News & World Report rankings, where it already ranks among the top 10 public graduate schools of education in the country.

“This ranking corroborates our consistent top-10 standing among public schools of education across various ranking services," Newman said. "When you build a school around students, the results follow — not once, but again and again.”
